The perfect icebreaker activity for corporate events and private parties.
Big surdo drums, agogos, cowbells, shakers, tamborims and group participation combine in this high-energy and multilayered performance spectacle. We lead everyone through a series of rhythmical exercises and challenges, teaching them the rhythms and sounds of Brazil.
Subgroups take ownership of different Latin percussion instruments, combining as a whole to make up the full sound of a Brazilian Samba band. We close the session with a final performance. It’s loud, impressive and high energy. It’s a carnival and everyone has an important role to play.
Activity duration: 90 minutes maximum. 1 hour is optimum for most groups. Samba also works well as a short session. Or multiple sessions for different groups, with a grand finale with all involved. Minimum session time is 20mins.
Group size: 15 minimum participants is required and we regularly cater for very large groups; with this activity, the more the merrier! *150 people is no problem!

We introduce the Djembe drums and teach the techniques and skills required to play a variety of rhythms and sounds on this instrument. Then, in this fun and relaxed group participation activity, subgroups take ownership of different rhythmic patterns, before combining as a whole to make up the full sound of the band. We close the session with a final performance.
90 minutes maximum. 1 hour is optimum for most groups. 20 minute minimum. Drop-in/taster sessions also work very well. 1 x 1 hour focused workshop or 2hrs of drop-in workshops or multiple short sessions up to 2 hrs.
Minimum of 2 participants required. Maximum size is 30 people.
